Probably an easy post processing question.

Probably an easy post processing question.

Probably an easy post processing question.

I have 4 nearly identical structures in a single model.

When I display output (e.g. min/max plate stresses), is there a way to make the contour and contour levels auto scale with just the part that's displayed? I currently have the 4 structures in separate layers, but that doesn't seem to work.

Thanks.

RE: Probably an easy post processing question.

If i understood well, you want to plot the results just for a part of a model.
The best way to do this is to work with Groups. Just add on the group the elements where you want to read the min/max plate stress.

Best regards.

Hello!,
You need to isse command "GROUP > OPERATIONS > GENERATE ENTITIES ON LAYER" and you will be able to generate an individual group for each layer in the model which has been selected. Each generated group will contain ALL entities on a specific layer. Then simply during postprocessing DOUBLE-click on a group and with RMB select "SHOW ACTIVE GROUP" to display just the active group only. And also if you plot any result you will see how the legend results gets limited to that group only (you need also to set "F6">postprocessing > contour/Criteria Levels > LEVEL MODE: 0..Automatic), this is great in FEMAP.

Best regards,
Blas.

Thanks. I assumed I needed to switch the layers to groups. Thanks for the easy shortcut to do that!
