Replacing components in multiple assemblies

Replacing components in multiple assemblies

Replacing components in multiple assemblies

(OP)
I need to replace a component that is used in several assemblies.

I opened up all the asm's. I replaced that one component, but it only occurred in the asm I was working on at the time.

Is there a way to replace that one component in all the asm's that are opened up?

Thanks,

Allen

RE: Replacing components in multiple assemblies

You can only modifying the Work Part, which in your case was the Assembly that was active at the time that you replaced the Component.

Without TeamCenter, NX will only replace the component in your work part.

I actually have several components of several asm's that are the same. I was just trying to simplify my question a little.

Anyway, I thought about using the copy/paste within the ANT window, which would work but would disassociatte my dimensions on my dwgs.
I found a little faster way to use the "component replace" command than what I was originally using. I was using the "replace component" through the ANT
window on every single component, which leads to more mouse clicks. I kept the replace window up and used "apply" for all the components. It saves some
clicks anyway.

Thanks for the replys.

RE: Replacing components in multiple assemblies

When working with Teamcenter, save-as replaces a component with a new component in all open assemblies.
So if the new component is based on the old one, this would work for you.

I don't know if the behaviour is the same in native though...
