AIr-collection chamber below manual air vent

AIr-collection chamber below manual air vent

(OP)
Hello

Can anyone provide a picture or schematic of a manual air vent and air-collection chamber assembly for removing air from a clear water system. I just read about the air-collection chambers and have not seen them on the field so I'm not sure what a correct installtion looks like.

Also isn't it always preferred to use an automatic air vent instead of manual?

Much obliged for any info.

RE: AIr-collection chamber below manual air vent

An air vent in a water system had better be attached to the top of the pipe, with any collection chamber above that, not below. ... if you tap the bottom of the pipe, you get water, or sediment, not air.

So you have been looking at the wrong surface of the pipe; look farther up.

I have never encountered an automatic valve that continued to operate automatically for more than a year. Most of them don't last nearly that long. That's why many people specify manual valves; they'd rather not harbor an illusion.
