help explaining some isssues

(OP)
Can somebody help me explain some results.

i am squeezing part-A between part-B and Part-C, so part-A is sandwithced btween part-b and C, Parts-B and C have the same mechanical properties (same Young's modulus and poisson's ratio).

I ran the model two times, in the first time, the ratio of Young's modulus of parts B and C to Part-A is 3 times, while in the second time, the ratio is 15 times.

I noticed that more stress concentration and more damage in part-A occurs as the stiffness of parts B and C increases.

Can any one explain why?

Thanks

RE: help explaining some isssues

Take the extreme case where B and C had no stiffness at all. In that case A would see no stress at all.

why when B and C have no stiffness, A could not see any stress. Could you please explain more?
Thanks
