Duplicate Components in Parts List

Duplicate Components in Parts List

Duplicate Components in Parts List

(I know... behind the times winky smile)

I have a parts list which contains duplicate componenents... same item numbers and descriptions but different quantities, which don't necessarily agree with what is indicated in the ANT. The ANT shows them packed with one component number/description for all as I would expect, and I have tried editing the component attributes while packed, hoping the edit would solve the issue. The component attributes for the affected parts seem to be identical. My next step is to upack these components and verify that indeed all attributes are the same, but I hate to spend the time and effort on what should be a simple problem without knowing that this step will solve the issue, when there is other work that the drawing/model needs done to it with a quickly approaching deadline.
If there were only a few components affected, I would remove and re-insert them into the assembly (no master-model concept used here sad ), which usually gets rid of this sort of problem for me. For example, I have 67 washers in this model denoted in two adjacent rows in the parts list showing respective qtys of 6 and 47 (just one of six hardware components with this issue).
This is a drawing based on a "save as" from a similar assembly, and contains multiple component arrays.
Can anyone point me in the right direction to solve this problem in a timely manner (other than reconstructing the assembly)? I want to avoid deleting the duplicate rows in the parts list and tweaking qtys accordingly if possible.

TIA!

RE: Duplicate Components in Parts List

I solved my problem...
While the components in question were packed, I changed the Name under the General tab in Attributes to a generic descriptive name. Even though all of the components in question seemed to have this blank, adding a name straightened out the issue.
