This has reference to the 1” globe valve (Material specification/Rating) required to be installed at well head hook-up(10000 PSI).

However we have requested the contractor to provide quotation for 1”, 10000 PSI Inconel 825 globe valve (ASTM B564 N08825).
Accordingly we have received clarification from the manufacturer mentioning that as per API 6A / ISO 10423 for 10000 PSI the material designation of body and bonnet is 36K, 45K, 60K and 75K corresponding yield strength is 248, 310, 414 and 517 Mpa. However the yield strength of body material Inconel 825 is 241 Mpa which is not meeting the requirement.
However the yield strength of the body material Inconel 625 (ASTM B564 N06625) is 414 Mpa. Which is meeting the requirement of API 6A / ISO 10423.
Considering above that all please confirm can i use Inconel 625 valve body material in place of Inconel 825 for pressure rating 10000 PSI at well head hook-up.

Anybody please help me as soon as possible......

625 is stronger and in almost all environments it also has superior corrosion resistance.
625 is commonly viewed as an upgrade over 825 in all properties.

The 241 MPa YS is lower than I would expect for 825 annealed bar. Based on my literature, the minimum should be more like ~324 Mpa. I would check to make sure the test value for YS is correct.

For a well head, 625 is often used for high temp relatively high H2S oil/gas wells. Only full disclosure of your actual service conditions(temp. water content, H2S & CO2 contents)could a complete recommendation be given. As Ed stated, 625 is generally considered an up grade over 825.
