good HVAC simulation?
good HVAC simulation?
(OP)
Hello.
I'm about to start a course on refrigeration and cryogenic machines (I don't know the proper name in English).
Could anybody give an advise on good software to ...
- Design HVAC systems (pipes, flow, thermal calculations, maybe electric circuits too).
- Calculate thermodynamic properties and plot diagrams of typical refrigeration gases.
I know programs such as Coolpack, Bitzer, Dancap, Dircalc, Duprex, Solkane or Cycle Pad, but they are too simple and don't include CAD capabilities
And I know programs such as Revit, Archicad, but they don't include any kind of simulation nor special libraries for this tasks.
I was even thinking in NX but I'd prefer something more specific. It can simulate flows but maybe it will overcomplicate it and It's not designed to draw buildings nor simulate electric circuits.
Regards

RE: good HVAC simulation?
If you take the course, go along with what the professor prescribes. Most of my coursework was based on EES.
For your course you likley won't be able to use a canned product since you are supposed to be able to program it yourself. You should use a canned software once yo actually understand it all.
