Loading Graphics Card Drivers
Loading Graphics Card Drivers
(OP)
After installing a new Quadro/Firepro card do you load the standard drivers that come with the card and then the dedicated/certified Catia driver over this or do you just install the dedicated/certified Catia drivers only and these will be good for the whole workstation and all the other software that one uses like Office, Draftsight etc. I am setting up a new workstation and I can get hold of a newish Quadro 4000 at a good price, would this be more effective and still be current than a new Quadro K2000 or K600?
Thanks
Thanks

RE: Loading Graphics Card Drivers
You have to buy the proper video card that gives you the best price for your working conditions. If you work with small files, go cheap (Q600) but if you work with very large assembly a Q2000 or K4000 or even K6000 would help.
Some benchmark used to be available (years ago) to understand which workbench are making use of memory, cpu, hard drive or video card but I do not know if this is updated.
If you want support from DS, the driver level is defined on the DS web site for each supported computer configuration.

For the drivers, do you download the certified Catia graphics cards drivers from Dassault and install only those for Catia and all other apps on your workstation, or do you first install the generic drivers that come with the card and then load the Catia certified drivers over these?.
RE: Loading Graphics Card Drivers
download just the dassault version to be absolutely sure.
