API 6A Flanged Gauge PSL1 to PSL3

API 6A Flanged Gauge PSL1 to PSL3

(OP)
Hi all. If I purchase a flanged pressure gauge as a PSL1 and want to convert it in house to a PSL3 by NDE testing, is this possible? I am assuming that if I obtain all the necessary MTR's with the gauge then I can convert in house.

Anyone?

Thanks

RE: API 6A Flanged Gauge PSL1 to PSL3

i think no.
PSL3 demand UT or RT at raw material stage.
you can conduct this test but you still can't assign PSL3 on it.

RE: API 6A Flanged Gauge PSL1 to PSL3

another constraint....
you can assign this to PSL3 directly unless you saw MTC has UT/RT at raw stage.
sometimes i see some material with PSL3 qualification being downgrade to lower PSL.
