(OP)
Does anyone have a cooling water flow diagram for hot press platen cooling? I hat an 800 deg F steel platen to be cooled without inducing thermal stresses beyond yield. Air is used to cool from 800 to 400 degrees, air/water mist is used to cool from 400 deg F to 250 deg F , and water is used to cool from 250 deg F to 90 deg F. Must the coolant be kept at pressure to keep steam from forming? Can anyone explain and/pr show the flow diagram?
