Thinking of building a large evaporator to concentrate salt solutions to 25% +/-.
Planning to use 2205 tubing and contact surfaces. Vapor surfaces will be 316L

Any experience?

Thanks Jtgevoc

RE: corrision of 2205 in concentrated salt soultion

None that worked. If it is absolutely deaerated and it is cold then it might work.
I can't see 316 working if any liquid contacts it at all.

Thanks Ed,
Probably run seven effects forward flow evaporator, single pass.
If my first effect is at 100 degree C at 3% salt, will the 2205 work?
(I assume this will be the most severe condition).

The last effect will be at about 50 degrees C and 25% concentration.

I can build the entire evaporator out of 2205

Thanks JTGVOC
