API 14C is a guide for trip instrumentation. Is there similar standard for the design of alarms?

For example, should each trip have a pre alarm, does the alarm have to be independent from the control signal or not. Is there a standard with such guidance?

Thanks.

I think alarm priority is defined by the plant operator. For example, very urgent alarm will be put in red with pitch audio. Alarm sequence also provide root cause for plant operator to check back for the record.

Hope it helpful to you.
