Mating and moving prblem

(OP)
I have two equal rings with 6 holes in a circular patern. These rings are kept apart by small spheres that fit in those holes. To align the rings i use a coecentric mate between the faces of the iner holes. My problem is when i try to move a ring to touch the spheres the whole assembly moves as if it was a single part.

Could someone help me ?

Thanks in advence

RE: Mating and moving prblem

The first part you place in the assembly should be fixed by default.
Then I assume you'll use a TANGENT mate between the surface of one sphere and the nearest edge of one of the holes.
But - Scott is right - step one is to fix at least one of them rings.
