Customising menu shortcut keys

Customising menu shortcut keys

Hi all,

Is there any way to customise the shortcut key for any given menus? I'm not referring to the "Customize > Keyboard" key assignment, I mean the underlined letters in any drop-down menu.

For example, in the Part Navigator if you right-click a feature you may see:

Hide
Edit Parameters
Suppress
Feature Group
Replace

In each of the above cases if you activate the menu and press H on the keyboard it will hide the feature, as an example. This is really useful for selection-specific tools that do not necessarily have their own function listed in the keyboard assignment list. "Make Current Feature" is a good example of this and doesn't have an assignment, and I would like to add one.

Specifically I'm looking at NX7.5 onwards.

Thanks in advance.

Ok, so I've found how to do it from the main menus (File, Edit etc.). You activate the Customize dialog, LMB the menu with the option, RMB on the option and from the options change the name with the & in front of the letter you want to be the shortcut.

So it's the same thing, but how do you do this for RMB menus, such as right-click on geometry or object in the part navigator?

RE: Customising menu shortcut keys

Starting with NX 8.5 we have introduced a context specific 'Shortcut Toolbar' which will appear whenever an object is selected or even when pressing MB1 in the so-called 'white-space' (while the cursor is NOT over an object). These 'toolbars' are fully customizable using the traditional 'Customize' dialog. The so-called pop-up menu which appears when you press MB3 after selecting something, those 'menus' are still not available for editing or customization. However the display pop-up menu, which occurs when you press MB3 over the so-called 'white-space' of your display, that 'menu' can be modified by editing it's '.men' file.
