A brass tube UNS C68700 has internal surface heavily corroded and outside surface is unaffected.THere are pinholes on the outer surface moving from inside to outside. WHat mightbe the probable cause of failure of lube oil tube.Inside is sea water and used for heat exchanger tube.What are the damage mechanism of brass.

You need to have a failed section of the brass tube sent to a metallurgical lab for proper evaluation.
