AS/NZS 1252 Structural Bolts

AS/NZS 1252 Structural Bolts

AS/NZS 1252 Structural Bolts

(OP)
I work for a US company that will be shipping equipment to Australia. The client wants us to use AS/NZS 1252 bolts for attaching platforms and pipe supports and similar. Does anyone know if there is a place in the US that sales these? I'm not talking about somebody willing to say they provide bolts that conform to this standard but don't even have a copy of it, but honest to goodness AS/NZS 1252 bolts right down to conforming to the test methods specified in the standard and everything in between.

RE: AS/NZS 1252 Structural Bolts

This doesn't really assist, though:

Cl2.3.2 of AS 4100, in principle, permits the use of fasteners other than AS/NZS 1252 - maybe with suitable consideration and approval, this is an option?

For works in Asia, we have previously freighted fasteners from AU to the works as they couldn't be locally sourced (yet a number of the the certificates for the product, state the product generally originates somewhere in Asia..).

There have been a number of "high profile" failures in AU due to "non-conforming" AS/NZS 1252 fasteners and hence this matter may receive more attention than anticipated.

Regards,
Lyle

RE: AS/NZS 1252 Structural Bolts

For some reason the Australia steel industry really struggles to manufacture steel and steel products economically so many of the products are imported from Asian and South-East Asian countries. They are usually accompanied with a compliance certificate to say they have been manufactured and tested in accordance with the relevant standards but documents from some suppliers can be suspicious at best.
