Division 2 (Old AG-301)

Division 2 (Old AG-301)

Division 2 (Old AG-301)

(OP)
Being a younger engineer, I do not have any experience with Div. 2 prior to the 2007 edition rewrite. From what I've read, I know there was a major restructuring but I can't find any information regarding how it was restructured; hence, what went to were?

I have a vessel spec that says "This user's design specification has been prepared to comply with the requirements of Paragraph AG-301 of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section VIII, Div. 2". What section would AG-301 apply to in the updated versions of Div. 2? Same question for AD-121 and AD-160.

Thanks for any help!

RE: Division 2 (Old AG-301)

AD-121 had definitions: AD-121.1 Design Pressure, AD-121.2 Design Temperature, AD-121.3 Operating Pressure, AD-121.4 Test Pressure, AD-121.5 Safety Valve Setting, and AD-121.6 Terms Relating To Design and Stress Analysis, which directs you to 4-112. You'll find that scattered throughout Part 2, Part 4, and Part 8.

AD-160 can be found in 5.5.2.

AG-301 was the rules for a UDS (User's Responsibility). That can now be found in 2.2.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
