Total load of air cooled condensing unit or chiller

Total load of air cooled condensing unit or chiller

Total load of air cooled condensing unit or chiller

(OP)
Based on the lines plotted on the psychrometric chart by using the ESHF, RSHF, mixed air temp, I am using the formula relating the enthalpy difference between the entering air and leaving air (through the cooling coil) for specifying the total load of the cooling coil. Is this the value to be given in the air cooled condensing unit or chiller data for the grand total load?

Or is the grand total load for the condensing unit or chiller just the summation of the room heat load, fresh air load and other misc load? This method gives less value.

RE: Total load of air cooled condensing unit or chiller

FOR CONDENSING UNITS

Take the total Load (Sensible + Latent + Outside Air Load). This will be the Coil Load which the Condensing Unit will have to reject in the condenser. Compressor would have to be selected for this TR. The Condenser will have to be sized for the Compressor TR multiplied by the Heat Rejection Factor.

FOR CHILLER

As above take the total load on the coil. To this TR add the piping and pump losses to get the Chiller Load.
