ANSI Y14.100

ANSI Y14.100

ANSI Y14.100

(OP)
I am considering purchasing a copy of ANSI Y14.100.
Can someone tell me about the contents of the standard?
More specifically: Does Y14.100 actually contain information or is it just a list of other standards that would need to be purchased separately?

RE: ANSI Y14.100

ANSI Y14.100 is an old spec, sure you don't mean ASME Y14.100?

ASME Y14.100 does reference a lot of other subsidiary standards on specific topics, but does have a few pages of information that aren't in subsidiary specs.

forum1103: Drafting Standards, GD&T & Tolerance Analysis has had threads about what specs people use most so you might get some info there.

What is Engineering anyway: FAQ1088-1484: In layman terms, what is "engineering"?

RE: ANSI Y14.100

It's essentially a front door to the ASME Y14 series. It is important, as it does have some fundemental drafting requirements listed. Also, it defines "language" in the subsequent standards, which helps interpret them better.
