Ramped and stepped loadings question

Ramped and stepped loadings question

Ramped and stepped loadings question

(OP)
Hi guys

I have completed a dynamic analysis of a fully clamped circular plate using both a ramped and a stepped load loading. The final deflection at the centre of the plate was found to be 0.001304m when stepped loading was used, and 0.001169m when ramped loading was used. Any suggestions?

P.S. Both analyses were carried out with exactly the same parameters.

Thanks

RE: Ramped and stepped loadings question

Dear Varnis9

I think the kind of loading is upto you. You have to identify the kind of load that is applied and provide it accordingly. Also in real world a stepped load doesnt seem to make any sense so, make it clear what kind of loading actually it is. Also is it time dependent ( transient ) loading.
