Bucket Location in Liquid- Liquid Separator

(OP)
Hi All,
I'm coverting exsiting vessel into liquid/liquid separator for produced water, I have done all sizing but not confident for the location of bucket (please see attached file). vessel size is 12'X60', water flow is 125000 BWPD, oil is 500-1000 ppm,Ls (liquid inlet and outlet is 36') vessel and bucket dimensions are 3x2.5x1'.
can any one please advice me on the location of bucket.
Thanks

RE: Bucket Location in Liquid- Liquid Separator

10815L,
A sketch would be very helpful to determine a good reply to your question. That is, will the water be pumped with a minimum flow return? Is it a horizontal or vertical vessel? Is there a weir? Will the oil exit the top or bottom?

Hi,
it is a horizontal vessel and will be used for produced water , oil to be skimed from top in the bucket and then out from bottom side. LS (Liquid in / Liquid out) is already calculated and you can see in my attached file. Oil is in ppm level therfore, bucket is needed. no code available for the location of bucket, if some one have exeprience for the designing of bucket for this type of vessels he can help.
