pipespec. corrosion allowance

pipespec. corrosion allowance

pipespec. corrosion allowance

(OP)
Just saw something new;
guys here invented various corr. all. in one spec.
up to dn65 0,5mm ; up to dn65 1mm ; up to dn300 1,5mm,
Is it acceptable that small bores should be replaced more often in the same pipeline?
I should think it's not very practable.
Cracks, What's your opinion?

RE: pipespec. corrosion allowance

I dont see any immediate advantage to replace small bore piping if they're welded (to larger dia run pipes).
To me this is non-standard practice. Curious to hear other's opinions on this.

RE: pipespec. corrosion allowance

It's poor engineering practice to set Corrosion allowances based on pipe size. This is all dependant on the service conditions and material of construction.
