Apply force in a certain region of a face

Apply force in a certain region of a face

(OP)
Dear,

During a FEM analysis in NX7.5 I want to apply a force only in a certain region of a face. I was expecting to draw a sketch on the face with the area that must be filled with the force and then convert it to some special feature to be able to apply the force on the enclosed area in a similar way you can do in ProMechanica. Is this possible? How can I apply a force in a certain region of a face and not to the entire face without doing dummy features?

Thanks in advance

RE: Apply force in a certain region of a face

Perhaps there is a more elegant solution, but you could use your sketch to divide the face and then apply the force to the desired face.

Cowski,

How I can perform it? Ususally I make a idealized part, but I can not see any sketch, so I am not able to select anything!

Thanks in advance!

RE: Apply force in a certain region of a face

You'll need to promote or wave link the original body to your idealized part. From there, you can make any changes you need for the simulation such as deleting small features, dividing faces, etc. The changes you make will only affect the idealized part.

Cowski,

Thanks. I have tried and works fine!

Thank you!
