A buried pipe will have a 90deg. bend and a riser coming out of the ground. The steel pipe size can vary (6"-24") and will be buried up to 48" below grade. It needs to have a concrete pad under the 90 deg. bend. I would like to know how I would calculate the dimension of the pad and whether the pad needs to have re-enforcement in it. I know the weight of the pipe with liquid in it.

Is the pipe going to carry water or some other liquid? Is it going to be under pressure or gravity flow?
These need to be know before any reasonable advice can be given.

Thanks for taking interest in this. Let's assume the worst case that it is filled with water at 1000 psig.

A 24" dia. pipe at 1000 psig? If that's true, you have a tremendous thrust block problem, not just a slab support issue at the 90 deg ell. You need someone locally to help you because more than just concrete is involved here, including soil conditions.
