in 13.8 KV switchgear , we have the CT body is connected to the Live bar , already we did the HV test for BB and it was passed with the same connection , Do you have any idea why the manufacture do the connection like that .attached photo

There is no photo attached.

However due to lack of supporting structure to mount the CT, some manufacture fo mount the CT casing on an assembly directly bolted to the bus.

As long as it passes the factory dielectric test, there is no standards that prevents them from doing it.

We do acceptance testing, and it passes the 1 minute dielectric test for the bus, the CT mounting technique should not be an issue.
