ASTM F1554 Grade 36 Anchor Bolts

ASTM F1554 Grade 36 Anchor Bolts

(OP)
Hi,

I was just going through API 686 (2009 ed.) and I noticed in Chapter 5, Annex B, there is a table for "30,000 psi Internal Bolt Stress" which gives torque values, tpi, and compression. I am assuming the "30,000 psi" bolts they are referring to are Grade 36 F1554 anchor bolts... But why does it say 30,000 and not 36,000 psi internal bolt stress?

Also, on a side note, how common is it to specify grade 36 for rotating equipment foundations? As I understand it, grade 36 is the most commonly specified anchor bolt and grades 55 and 105 are nowhere near as readily available.
