Code for fire rated window in an interior wall

Code for fire rated window in an interior wall

(OP)
My client wants to put a glazed window in a non-bearing wall that is NOT rated for fire (OLD building). The window will allow light from the central stairwell of the building into the adjacent hallway. The city building dept. has said that she needs a 2 hour fire window if she wants to proceed. Ive been told by a few ppl that there is no such thing as a 2 hr rated window. Im mostly looking for help on finding the relevant code for this case, specifically that of penetrations/windows in a wall that is not rated for fire.

RE: Code for fire rated window in an interior wall

If this building is four or more stories in height, the stair shaft requires a 2-hour fire-resistance. If its penetrated, a 90 minute opening protective is required per the 2012 IBC.

What building code is in effect and do you have a design schematic that illustrates the issue?
