Hello All,
I have tried to find a way to use selection by tangent surfaces when trying to change the color for surfaces (faces).
It seems that the "Face Rule" is not available for this.
Does anyone have a work-around for this, or am I missing something?

That being said, in NX 9.0 we've added a function that will allow you to assign a 'Color' to a Feature, and while this is not exactly what you're asking for, it might under certain circumstances actually provide you a behavior something close to what you're looking for. For example, you might want to give all the faces created by a Shell operation a different color than the original body that the Shell feature was added to. Or take the case of a complex, serpentine blend on a casting. Now it will only take a single selection to change the color of all of the faces of that Blend feature.

The reason for this post is that our designers came from I-Deas into UG.
In I-Deas when you changed the color of a face it stayed that color until it was manually changed by the designer.
In UG there are face colors and body colors along with numerous switches on where a feature will inherit its colors from.
Makes it difficult when you want certain faces to stay a certain color. Many times after changing an operation up the part tree the colors of the final part get changed back to something else. Colors are the way we convey information to our shop when it comes to manufacturing the part.
I will test this feature color enhancement and hopefully it will make life easier for the designers here.
