Turning Radii of Trucks and Boat trailers

(OP)
I am new to the site.  I do not know if this topic have been discussed before. I am trying to find a resource that will give me the standard turning radii of trucks and boat trailers.  Anybody?

RE: Turning Radii of Trucks and Boat trailers

Turning radii of truck is a function of the design and usually published in the sales brocheres or various on-line car sales sites.  The trailer will follow - actually cut inside the circle - amount depends on its wheelbase.

RE: Turning Radii of Trucks and Boat trailers

The AASHTO "Green Book" (A Policy on Geometric Design of Highway and Streets) has "turning templates" for various types of vehicles.  These are meant to represent the turning behavior of most vehicles in the class represented.  One of them shows a light truck towing a trailer.

Some commercial suppliers sell turning templates printed on acetate in common engineering scales. You place the template on your intersection plan, and make sure the vehicle can make the turn without hitting the curb.
