We still do hand layup fiber glass molding, and currently one lpmc molded part. Looking at doing another lpmc part, but need to know if we have enough press for it, so need to know a few basics of projected area and how draw depth effects the process.

The part I want to do lpmc on is approx. 11" long by 5" wide by 4.5" deep (draw depth). Question 1, how do I determine projected area and clamping force required? Is it the entire surface area of one side (ie male mold side) of the part, or just 11" x 5", or 11" x 5" plus a factor for the draw depth?
