Boiler Attendance Requirement?

Boiler Attendance Requirement?

Boiler Attendance Requirement?

(OP)
Boiler Experts,

I have been involved in discussions about whether there is a national code or rule that requires building-level boilers above a certain heating input to be constantly supervised by a qualified on-site person, capable of responding to an alarm condition in a responsbile manner. My initial opinion and research indicates there is no such code, but from experience I know there are many things done in industry that aren't necessarily in accordance with code. So, I turn to you, the specialists. Is there guidance in place related to boiler supervision that I'm not finding?

RE: Boiler Attendance Requirement?

Typically, in the US regulations for boiler operation is done at the State and City level (also called Jurisdictions). I would suggest you search the internet for various Jurisdictions across the US and they will have requirements for boiler output, operating license and boiler attendant requirements.
