Recently picked up this article (written by L.C. Peng, probably known to most of us) through a LinkedIn topic.
Found the article interesting to read. Im not that much into the (Code-)fundamentals of pipe stress, so some parts explained are not easy to tackle.
It seems there's some debate on who's 'right or wrong' in terms of B31.3 appendix P; found this Coade CII thread discussing the paper here.
Im rather curious to hear other's opinions on this.

RE: L.C. Peng - Understanding Piping Code Stress Evaluation Paradoxes and ASME Appendix P

a remarkable read (just do a search on the title of the paper) for anyone involved with piping or devices connected to the piping (flow meters, etc).

A star for you XL83NL for digging up that excellent reference.

It's some time ago; still wondering if some (pipe stress) experts here may share their POV on this topic.
