Blast/Drag loads-Vessel design

(OP)
Dear All,

In one of our projects, we have to consider the blast/drag load in vessel design. Client specification says vessel should withstand drag forces of 0.4barg with a time span of 200 milliseconds. I’m thinking to consider this drag pressure same as a kind of wind pressure and apply on the vessel surface to get the force and with combination of other forces to check the skirt. Actually I’m not sure if I’m correct, would you please advise me accordingly? Or share your relevant previous experiences.

Thanks in advance
