Metrology Material (liquid metal) Cerlo or Sirlo sp?
Metrology Material (liquid metal) Cerlo or Sirlo sp?
(OP)
Hello all,
I was hoping someone could help me. I am looking for the name of a liquid metal alloy. It is used in metrology. It is solid (mostly) at room temp, but if you place it over a heat element, it becomes liquid.
It's great for holding tolerance and checking ID grooves and such. I don't know its proper name or where to find the stuff. It would sometime get a film over the top when in the crucible over the heat element. It's not a lot of heat either. This stuff sets fast.
It's kind of like a liquid metal version of reprorubber.

I am pretty sure that's the stuff.
We used to use it for proof casting.
