Temporary Form Work Anchoring.

Temporary Form Work Anchoring.

Temporary Form Work Anchoring.

(OP)
Good evening,
I'm new to the structural engineering side of things. Specifying an adhesive anchor for some form work that will only be used in the construction phase of a project. Question is, since it is temporary, do I still need to utilize appendix D Seismic Design for this anchor?

The anchors will stay in the concrete for a little over a year.

Thank you for any help you can provide,

-Bob

RE: Temporary Form Work Anchoring.

Anything which will be in place for a year should be regarded as permanent. They have a nasty habit of remaining in place much longer than initially intended.

Seems like an awfully long time for concrete formwork to remain in place though.

I agree with BA. You can use Hilti Profus or the Simpson Anchor Selector program that will give you the answers easily for using Appendix D. Just download one or the other.
