Submersible Pump Float Switch Measurement/Distance

Submersible Pump Float Switch Measurement/Distance

Submersible Pump Float Switch Measurement/Distance

(OP)
Hello there, I need to know the standard measurement/distance for the high and low level float switch used for SUMP PUMPS. Our set-up on site are 2 pumps for each sump pit. The pump have four level of float switch. The (1)high level (2)Alarm 2nd pump (3)Alarm 1st Pump) and (4)Low level/switch off. Now can someone help me on measuring the distance between each float switch level and distance of Low level switch from the FFL of the sump pit basin. Were should I position the high level switch above or below the drainage pipe discharging to waste water to sump pit. What will be the distance of it?

If there is a formula or standard that need to be followed please inform me here.

Thanks

Cherwin

RE: Submersible Pump Float Switch Measurement/Distance

I dont see how anyone can provide you with the info you are requesting here. If I HAD to provide an answer I would demand knowledge of the size of the sumps as well as the expected flow rates into the sumps, as well as knowledge of the consequences of say a 1 inch overflow condition as well as say a 12 inch overflow condition , and of course the design flow rates of the sump pumps would be essential as well.

Is there any specific formula for the computation of each?

RE: Submersible Pump Float Switch Measurement/Distance

Give inflows for normal, peak, and minimum flows, sump volume and dimensions, pump performance data then maybe you might get a response that will help. There is no magic formula involved, just common sense based on the facts of the installation configuration

It is a capital mistake to theorise before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts. (Sherlock Holmes - A Scandal in Bohemia.)
