ID symbols

ID symbols

ID symbols

(OP)
Hi,

I'm on NX 7.5 and TC 2007
I have mapped id symbols on a drafting which are linked to the PSE in Teamcenter.
Here's the situation:
Some of the parts in the assembly are reference only. These are electrical parts like sensors, motors etc etc. We don't want them listed in TC, because the electrical software has them listed. The electrical software has no link with TC.
The reason of the reference only parts is to prevent double ordering of those parts.

In the reference set in the assy i added the electrical parts (which are reference only) to show them on the drawing. But when i add a ID symbol on them, it stays empty, because the part is reference only. In the navigator pane i see a value by "CALLOUT"
Is there a solution to let the ID symbol show the right value which is in PSE?
Or can i show the value of the attribute "CALLOUT" which i see in the navigator pane?
Or is there another way?

RE: ID symbols

Kind of complex question, an ID symbol generally states that "this detail is noted in the BOM" , which it isn't in your case.
Anyhow, i assume (?) that when you set the electrical details "Reference only" , you RMB the component - Properties - Reference only ?
When you do this, NX will set two attributes on the component, : REFERENCE_COMPONENT and PLIST_IGNORE_MEMBER=YES
where REF... is used by teamcenter and PLIS... is used by the NX partslist, i assume that deleting the PLIS... might make the ID symbol update.

Regards,
Tomas

The idea sounds like a solution.smile
I tried this. When i change the attribute to "NO" in the assembly the PSE list shows the electrical part.
Of course, i have have to do it in the model of the drawing...When i change the value to "NO", save, close, reopen, update views, refresh partslist, sad...
The value has changed back to "YES" and no value is shown in the id-symbol. Even when i delete the attribute, save, close, reopen, update views, refresh parslist it doesn't show the ID value. The attribute i deleted is automatically added again and set to "YES". I think i can't overrule this value in the drawing...
