ASCE7 Wind Loads on 2 sided building

ASCE7 Wind Loads on 2 sided building

ASCE7 Wind Loads on 2 sided building

(OP)
60' x 120' x 25' Steel framed building. MWFRS uses steel braced frames and moment frames with infill walls on two exterior sides, one 60' wall, one 120' wall. Is this building open, partially enclosed, or enclosed? Per ASCE7 definitions:
Open Building: Requires "each" wall must be at least 80% open. Does not apply.
Partially enclosed: For 60' wall opening Ao < 1.1Aoi and Aoi/Agi>0.20. Does not apply.
Enclosed: By default, this applies.

In my opinion, a typical dictionary definition of "enclosed" is counterintuitive to this building. Should I ignore this and say ASCE7 word choice of "enclosed" was poor and a more accurate word would be "other"...as in the ASCE definition "a building that does not comply with the requirements for open or partially enclosed"?

RE: ASCE7 Wind Loads on 2 sided building

I would design it for the worst case(s) of both open and enclosed with wind from all four directions.
