Hole callout on the drawing.
Hole callout on the drawing.
(OP)
Greetings all!
NX 8.5. Is it possible to inherit on the drawing a 'Callout' record from the "nx502_Threaded_Hole_Standard" file?
Alternatively, is it possible to edit the annotation template so that it would place the threaded hole dimensions like in "iso_din.atp.prt", bit supplemented with thread pitch, like in "ansi_mm.atp.prt"? I couldn't understand how to do that.

I too have wondered about changing those templates and after a few conference calls with Siemens realized that there isn't much that can be modified so I started writing my own NX/Open programs to detail tapped holes. We build large automation machinery so a great deal of our components connect with dowels and threaded fasteners. Perhaps we can chat about your plans for what to do since I am stumped as well.
Thanks,

I haven't yet took a proper look at NX9 (waiting for NX CAST actually). Will I be able to call out the mentioned information on the drawing there?
Pat,
Not yet sure about my plans. I can't program unfortunately.
RE: Hole callout on the drawing.
We replaced CAST some time ago with a new approach to selfpaced learning which we call 'Learning Advantage'. To learn more about this program, go to:

This new approach, 'Learning Advantage', supports more modern ways to deliver non-classroom based instruction, often referred to as 'self-paced' learning. As I said, if you're interested, the link I provided will give you more details as to what this the program offers and how it can be utilized to meet your training needs when formal instructor-led, classes are not something that your company is in a position to take advantage of.

John, did I get it right that Learning advantage courses are not downloadable?
Also, is it a flat requirement for everyone to purchase a membership? Can Siemens solution partnets access these courses for free?

And one more question - do these courses include exercises, like old CAST did? (I guess they do not, since they are online.)
Basically, what do these courses look like?

If you have a license to use C.A.S.T then it will be transferred 1:1 to a license for Learning Advantage.
