Data Aquisition INET-555- Lost Data

(OP)
Hello,

I have set up an INTET-555 data acquisition unit with a PC, windows 7, 4G of RAM. I am measuring temperature with 10 (channels) J thermocouples. Following the instructions, I chose "digitize to RAM" for data saving. After the digitization is stopped and the data saved, the text file will be empty or have only 4 minutes of scans in the columns for each channel. I set the scans for every 15 sec., to digitize for 4 hours. # of scans 1. I have had sporatic results. If I choose "digitize to file, either text or text merge, it repeatedly asks me to "save as" when I press the start button, or it will tell me to select ram buffer. For $250.00, there is a software that will digitize to an excel file but I have spent a lot as it is on this unit.
I have been on the phone with Omega and they have not helped me to resolve the issue. Does anyone have any experience with the INET-555?
