I know Allen Bradley have a lot of recommendations in terms of parameter changes required when using dV/dt filter with their drives (they have a published manual), and I have heard it said that FOC/Sensorless Vector is best avoided altogether (seems like a cop out but i guess I can see the logic).

I'm working with some ACS800 drives that have output filters on them, and I'm wondering if anyone can comment on if they would have a noticeable effect on the motor model, and also if the fact that DTC varies the carrier frequency could have an adverse effect on either the filters or the motor due to strange interactions.

One of the drives is multi-motor, I attempted to run it in scalar and it promptly decided to report back "short circuit" fault. I assume it does not like the caps in the filter. I changed it to DTC, did a "ID MAGN" and it runs great right down to 5hz.

For one app I need to hold zero speed with at least a reasonable amount of torque (say 50% for 500ms) while I sequence a mechanical brake to apply. Any thoughts on if it would be more appropriate to leave the "start mode" to "auto" and command 0hz, or should I use DC hold? Again wondering is the caps in the filter would dislike this. That said I guess the result electrically is the same.

Anyways sorry for all the questions, hopefully it brings some useful discussion for all.
