Shaded view on a drawing ~ NX7.5

Shaded view on a drawing ~ NX7.5

Shaded view on a drawing ~ NX7.5

(OP)
I have a shaded view on a drawing but it only prints in wireframe.
When I go to File->Print, the only two output options that I have are B&W wireframe and color wireframe.
So is it possible to print a shaded drawing image as a it shows up on the drawing ?

RE: Shaded view on a drawing ~ NX7.5

The only way is to select current display in the Source box. then you need to know if you want a white background or black. If you have dimensions or text, you may need to change color.

What version of NX is this ?

I looked at NX7.5 and it does have the option "Export shaded geometry as Wireframe",
- Do not tick this option.

NX will though always ( in my experience) print shaded views and images in color, no matter of black and white settings in other places.

Regards,
Tomas

jerry1423 has your issue been solved?

No, not yet . . . I have concerns that need to be taken care of here at work, and I will get back to this printer issue next week.

RE: Shaded view on a drawing ~ NX7.5

I just tested this using NX 7.5.5.4 and with the 'Output' set to 'Color Wireframe' and the 'Export Raster Images in Drawing' toggled ON and 'Export Shaded Geometry as Wireframe' toggled OFF, it worked just fine.

It worked !
After following the suggestions, and still getting a negative result, I reduced my image resolution on the bottom of the print menu to "medium" with success.
I have a feeling there is some sort of memory or graphics issue with my computer.

I have another question on the same topic:
Can the lighting be adjusted on the shaded drawing view?

RE: Shaded view on a drawing ~ NX7.5

If you're using a Drawing template, you'll need to open it and while in Modeling, go to...

View -> Visualization -> Basic Lights...

...and make whatever changes you want to the intensity and the ON/OFF status of the so-called 'basic' lights and hit OK. Now save your template and create a new drawing. Now when you set a View to be shaded, it will use whatever was set in the Drawing template.
