Load flow studies

Load flow studies

Load flow studies

(OP)
Can anyone recommend a good text book with solutions or articles that covers load flow calculations on an electric power grid?

RE: Load flow studies

You can find load flow studies topics in the following books:
Power System analysis by Hadi Saadat
Power System Analysis by Granger and Stevenson

RE: Load flow studies

I think it is better to buy a software program for load flow study. Such program will contain various methods like Newton=Raphson or Gauss-Siedel or some other methods, which give lot of guidance for making a load flow study. One of the best programs is PTI's, though it is very expensive. From search engine you can have access to lot of programs.

RE: Load flow studies

New load flow solution tricks can be found at web page http://EGPreston.com .  The dissertation gives a chapter on the new load flow solution techniques that are neither Gauss Siedel nor Newton Raphson.  I use it to do 35,000 bus load flow and ATC studies on the eastern grid.

PASHA for loadflow studies, but its also
expensive.
fortunately you can download its demo
version from www.electricnet.com
(or electriknet.com ?)

bye

RE: Load flow studies

One of the best text books about the load flow solutions is "Computer modelling of electrical power Systems" Ed. John Wiley and sons,1983.
