In what instances can Bushings be Used in Fuel Gas Piping

In what instances can Bushings be Used in Fuel Gas Piping

(OP)
Could someone please verify my research on the use of bushings in fuel gas pipe?

My understanding from searching on Google is only malleable iron when reducing more than 1 size is acceptable. No Cast Iron.

1209.5.8.4 Metallic Fittings (Including
Valves, Strainers, Filters). [NFPA 54:
5.6.8.4]
(5) Cast-Iron Fittings.
(a) Flanges shall be permitted.
(b) Bushings shall not be used.

RE: In what instances can Bushings be Used in Fuel Gas Piping

True. International Fuel Code says bushings not allowed for cast iron pipe. Also, bushings not allowed within concealed locations, no matter what pipe.
