Partition Arterial Geometry

Partition Arterial Geometry

Partition Arterial Geometry

(OP)
I a new to using Abaqus (previously a MSC.patran user). I am trying to mesh a complex geometry of a cuffed carotid artery (see attached figure). I understand I need to partition the geometry, but am unable to partition along the curved main axis of the tube. Any thoughts?

RE: Partition Arterial Geometry

I typically do most geometry work in the CAD program it was created in. This way with geometry changes this preprocessing work is automatically updated. The image did not come through otherwise I would have more specific advice. I hope this helps.
