Harmonics from Laptops

(OP)
Does anyone have any data comparing harmonics caused by laptops vs desktops? We are seeing office workstation migrating to laptops in lieu of traditional desktop computers and are wondering if the same techniques for harmonic mitigation still apply for commercial offices.

Thanks.

RE: Harmonics from Laptops

Yes. Same stuff. An upside is that the laptops generally draw about 1/2 the power so you have about 1/2 the harmonics issue.

I good solution is to limit the purchases to laptops with PFC supplies. They're becoming more common.
