Safety Factors in Concrete for Concrete Silos

Safety Factors in Concrete for Concrete Silos

(OP)
I have been asked to determine the "Ultimate" strength of the concrete walls of a silo due to explosion of dry wood dust. I determined the allowable pressure based on using #4 bars at 12" o/c for an ID of 30'-0". I determined that the silo can resist an explosion of 3.125 psi. I then asked what that would be at "Ultimate" strength which would be without any safety factors. Is my safety factor just 1/6/0.9=1.78?

RE: Safety Factors in Concrete for Concrete Silos

3.125 PSI? That seems rather small.
