Conveyor belt cleaning techniques
Conveyor belt cleaning techniques
(OP)
I have an issue where our current set up to clean our conveyor using 2 scrapers, a roller brush, and water sprayer are not removing all of the dry material. This leads to "carry back" on the belt return that ends up dusting the parking lot. To add to this problem, the sprayer will not be running in the upcoming cold winter months.
Does anyone know of any alternative products/methods that could be recommended to aid in removing dust/debris from the conveyor?
Included is a picture of the belt return, after the scrapers and brush, but before the water sprayer.
Many thanks,
Paddy

Material being conveyed = gypsum
Excuse my ignorance, but what is belt turnover? Are you referring to the transfer point for the material?

Have you considered an enclosed section, with an air knife and vacuum chamber?
The air knife will blast a lot off, and the vacuum will collect the dust.

Sorry for just seeing your post.
Is the roller brush driven independent of the conveyor belt or are you relying on the belt to rotate the brush? If not, ensure that the brush runs faster then the belt surface speed
Is the brush contra rotating to the belt travel?
Has the brush got a spiral weave as this tends to give some sideways cleaning effect as well.
