Quotation 3D Model to check weight
Quotation 3D Model to check weight
(OP)
Hi!
We are into manufacturing of Forged parts.
I have a part of my job as we receive the drawings from our clients for enquiry purpose. They delegate us their final machined drawing based on which i have to generate Forging 3D Model (keeping into considerations machining allowances, forging drafts, etc....) in order to check the weight of the forging part based on which we calculate the manufacturing cost for a single forged part. I do the same operation everytime, please see attached jpg. I need a macro for the same, after using it i just need to change the dimensions as per the standards, size of the job etc..
"Usine" is the part body in which i create the 3D Model exactly as per the client's 2D
I hope everybody understood my question.
I recorded a macro while performing for one of the forged part, but it's giving an error.
Can anybody please help me out ?
Regards,
Himanshu

RE: Quotation 3D Model to check weight
In this case the bounding box macro will not help you...but I suggest you to extract all external surfaces and make an offset for them with what distance you want and create a closed solid in order to obtain a good result (again, if you don't have the NC license).
