How to Disinfect New Clearwell Pump?

(OP)
Have to install a new distribution pump into my final clearwell and looking for options for disinfecting it and documenting that it is free of bacteria.

RE: How to Disinfect New Clearwell Pump?

Pipes, fittings, valves and all other components incorporated into connections with the system shall be spray disinfected or swabbed with a liquid chlorine solution in accordance with AWWA C651 and as specified herein. Upon connection, the line shall be flushed. Alternate methods such as "pre-disinfection" prior to installation in accordance with AWWA C651 may be required.

Typically, all piping, valves, fittings, and appurtenances which become contaminated during installation shall be cleaned, rinsed with potable water, and then sprayed or swabbed with a 5% sodium hypochlorite disinfecting solution prior to installation.

I'll see if I can locate the AWWA stds around our utility group. I'm guessing, unlike mains, there's no sampling to prove disinfection was achieved.

Thanks for responding.
